Hi i'm new here and I'm trying to launch a website.

I'm pretty new to Dreamweaver and HTML Code but I managed to go through the code and what I've done with it is a result of the page today (above).
Anyway, I need some help setting the width of the <div></div> so I have a set width of my top two articles (the ones with LBJ and Penn State football). So if anyone can help me w/that let me know.
Also...how would you set functionality for that search bar??
The site is built off a template from Dreamweaver MX 2004.
