How to write text in Japanese?

Hi everyone,

I simply need to know how to write text in Japanese on a website. Ive browsed around on the net but im just baffled by everything i read. Some sites say that i need to install some software, others say that i dont. Some sites also say that i need to specify the Japanese charset which i have done but when i type the text it still comes out in English.

Please can someone help me?
