background music on a website

Hello,
I would like to put some background music on a website, along with a button to turn it off. I would love to keep it html if possible because my skill in javascript is very limited. I know how to make it work in a flash file, but i figured it must be an easier way to do it.

Any ideas would be great.

Item 6 has start and stop buttons but needs javascript. Other examples either don't need javascript or just need ActiveX in IE without javascript in other browsers.
(I hope they display OK, I find sound and video code unreliable).
I expect there are plenty of other ways so use Google.
