Hi everyone here,

I hope everyones well and not as annoyed as me cos I cant figure something out ;) Before we begin, I have never created a professional website and am new to this site, so apologies if I have done anything incorrect.

Ok.. so my problem! I have spent hours designing a site completely in Flash MX, then exported it (so have all the html files and images saved) and all seems to be working on my desktop.

I have then registered my domain and set up an account so that my files can be stored. I have an FTP with them, and files are automatically set up as web and logfiles. I have then simply copied all my files created bt Flash to the 'web' folder, only to be presented with a 'Directory Listing Denied' message on my page when I try to access it!!

If anyone has any ideas on how to help, can they contact me.

Thank you very much to everyone that takes there time to read this.

Kind regards,

Ian Paget (Scissormoon)

It sounds like you're sending a request to the server that doesn't specify a specific file, i.e. http://www.mydomain.com rather than a specific file such as http://www.mydomain.com/somefile.html. When you do that the server looks for a file with the default name in the directory to send to the user; if it doesn't find one, it will list the contents of the directory unless the server software is configured not to. In that case, since it isn't permitted to show the contents of the directory (it's a potential security problem), it instead displays an error message, Directory Listing Denied.
