hello, no matter what I do I can't get Firefox to display my fonts in Veranda. I've tried CSS and HTML and all three types of DTD for this one page. the font shows perfectly fine for Safari.

I looked at my Firefox list of fonts and veranda is not there, so it cannot be shown. I know that there is a font called veranda but do you mean verdana? Your page code also says veranda.

If you want to use special fonts in special places, like logos or headers, put the font on an image and code the image. There are one or two ways to download fonts but they make the page load slow and one involves flash and javascript combined. See this thread:-
