Hey guys,

I'm not sure if many of you will even know who I am as I've been away from this forum for so long due to person reasons. But since I've come back I've noticed a few things have gone on while I've been away and I'm not sure I've caught what's been said in every thread.

So... this is your chance to tell me what you think about the forum - I guess I mean in the sense of moderation. Is there anything you want me to do as a mod that will make your life easier and help you to enjoy the forum more?

Also, just want to say that this forum really has come on leaps and bounds since I was last here. I remember a time when people used to come, ask a question and then you'd never see them again. But now there's a real little community growing, the fact that you guys are bothered that there's not many mods and that the forum seems to be going downhill is great - because a few months ago I'd say the state of the spam on this site was a lot worse and people generally didn't care because they didn't stay.

So, really just want to know what you think.

I'll tell you now what mods on this forum can and can't do.

We can:
- Sort out spam and advertising (as long as there isn't too much that there isn't enough time to get rid of it all)
- We can sort out individual users that are not being very nice to the rest of the community

We can't:
- Sort out the annoying ads. And yes they do seem to get worse each day but they are sorted out by the owners of the site who have little contact with even the admin of this forum, let alone anyone else.
- Stop people re-registering every time they get banned (we can keep banning them though til they get bored I guess)

So, fire away...

make a requirement (like minimum 10-15 posts) before one can post a link. seems to work fine for some other design forums i frequent. honestly this place is so riddled with drive-by spammers and ads i dont know how this place can be considered a resource..

That's an interesting point, I've never thought about that. We'll have to look into, surely there's a mod out there for VB where you can do this. I can't implement anything like this myself (I'm only a mod) but Rincewind might be able to sort it out.
