I need help creating an email database

hello this is my first post. im new to web design and am looking for some help. I am trying to create a email list so when people enter their email i can start building a list. i have one up now however it opens up excell or a basic email application. i want it to simply save it without them having to fill more out. a basic example is at the bottoom of this site .
