:xeye: I am trying to add live dispatch audio for a local fire department to the website. I am wanting to do it in near real time. I have use of all radio equipment and computer resources. can someone provide me with some insight as to how to accomplish this?

I know of several ways to set up a webcam for security which would do the same job in a fire station. People do this to watch their back door or even their baby while in nursery school.

Google webcam security.

It would give video and audio of movements in the fire station but upload bandwidth would be considerable if left on during all working hours. You could turn the video off with most applications.

There is a beta flash system here that requires no ftp and no username or password, only a webcam and mic:-
http://www.mebeam.com/
you paste the code into a web page (the object tag code in View/ Source), then choose a unique room name and the webcam will broadcast sound and video on your webpage and any other computer viewing the same web page. This application needs the webcam on or it won't work.

The example here http://www.mebeam.com/ has no room name as it is the basic open application for anyone to set up their own room name just for one call. If you add your unique room name into the flashvars code in two places as described here:-
http://forums.mebeam.com/view_topic.php?id=2&forum_id=2
for example room=firedept&
then the web page will be preset to that room name for any viewer of your web page.

The MeBeam link above has a random room link like:-
http://www.mebeam.com/myroom.php?Room_2 (you can change this to another random room between 1 and 6) which usually has examples of how the application works. Many people just leave a video running all the time, but beware, the random rooms are populated by Russians who often show porn or use swear words. The shadow images are lurkers who are watching but haven't turned their webcams on. When you use a unique room name it will be like a username, you won't get undesirable people unless they know the room name.
(At the moment room_4 has a video of someone asleep and he is snoring!)
