Ok, this is an odd one, and hopefully I am posting this in the correct section.

We have a network of joomla websites. One of the sites is a "staff site" that contains help for the users of the network sites. This staff site doesnt really have any critical information, but it is not public.

My boss would like to find a way to make it so that you can ONLY access this staff website via a link from one of the network sites.

Basically my boss (MBA - marketing consultant) thinks that it is way too intrusive to make people register to use the site. (personally I would just do that)

Do any of you have any ideas on how I would go about achieving this? Is there some way I could rig this using .htaccess?
Something like the link to the site contains a string that validates with the .htaccess file somehow?

Thanks for your input!

Just another Idea -

would it be possible to set something in htaccess so it only accepts visitors being referred by a site on a list of authorized referrers?
