View Full Version : Pixy style rollover buttons not working in Safari

I am fairly new to web design programming and CSS. However I found a great tutorial site at www.tutvid.com in the tutorials this guy (Nathaniel) gives a great tutorial on how to create the pixy style buttons that need no java script preload (ie: there is one image) -- I know this is all old hat to you seasoned pros out there... but, after modifying the concept a little to fit my situation, I simply can't get the rollovers to work in Safari, they're good in Firefox (mac, PC) and IE. The site I used them for is www.realdealcasinoparty.com. If you're so inclined to look, go to the packages page to see them (not the main nav on every page). You'll see a secondary set of navigation w/ wood grain buttons. These are my pixy buttons. Now the big difference for how I modified these is that they are image buttons (no html text) and I want them to be clickable of course. So, the only way I could figure out how to do it was to insert a transparent png image over the buttons as the object to make the link to. (I'm wondering if this is where my problem is stemming from?) Anyway, any help for this would be greatly appreciated. I now am happy I know how to do this but I keep wanting to implement it on new sites, but I know they too won't work in Safari!

Thanks!

Well, I fixed it -- I went back and followed the tutorial more strictly and was able to make the pixy style work w/o transparent pngs and more importantly it works in Safari as well now.
