View Full Version : How do I setup a website when there is already a Exchange Server involved?

Hi!

I have never come across this problem before. I know how to setup a website from scratch, and link it to a domain name. However, I now have a client who runs their own Microsoft Small Business Exchange server, which is linked to their already registered domain name (juniperstreet.com.au). He would like a website which is hosted on my reseller account, but wants it not to interfere with his current Exchange server setup.

Where do I start?

Thanks

Kim

Not sure if you already solved this problem, but here we go.

You should take care of it using your DNS Zone File.

You should make an A record for mail to point to their Exchange Server (and they should probably update that server to use the new mail.juniperstreet.com.au). That's all. Leave the rest to point to your server's address and all works.

Edit: Actually, have a look here too: http://www.webdevforums.com/showthread.php?t=38550. Involves the same kind of thing.
