Hey all,

I just joined this forum to get an idea of what "really" happens when developing a website. I have done the education bit so I have the tools to make websites but what I wasn't taught is sort of the ABC's or 1,2,3's of the process of a website??

I gather obviously the first steps are
- get a client
- determine clients needs and work out pages etc...
- create a mock up
after that I'm a bit stumped...
I guess what I'm most stumped with is what tools do you actually use to get to end result of page is made money is given everyone happy!!

For example...

When creating a site do you create the mockup using fireworks? or photoshop? after you have the mock up do you actually use these programs to "make" the whole site and adjust the code as needed?

Or do you make the mock up.. then completely hand code in say dreamweaver?

I can use all of the above proggies fairly well so I "could" make mockups in fireworks and use slices and export it as an html file, but is that considered rookie?

Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers
