Hello,

I was unsure where to post this on the forum:

I am in final year at university and for my major project, I am creating a medical website for sufferers of a condition. I want to have a button so when the user presses it, I want the text to be read out to them. So inside the <p> </p> element, there would be text I want it read out when the button is pressed.

I have searched for jquery plugins for this, and I found jTalk (http://www.jtalkplugin.com/) but I can not get the files needed as they guy won't email me back.

Has anyone any ideas on how I can do this? I have looked at Google TTS API, but I don't think there is any capability for this yet.

Any help appreciated!

Stephen

Scripts will not work properly depending on the users Operating Systems if it relies on the client sides text to speech.

I believe the best way to do this is just have audio files instead. Text to speech is to choppy and someone actually reading the text out loud on a playable file sounds much better.
