The new owner of the blog would surely try and seek the best from the blog wherein s/he'd remove any outgoing links to other site's and replacing them with its own. Moreover when this practice gets widely adopted by marketers, Google would again make a tweak in its algo and devalue the sites that gets a large volume of backlinks from such sites.

So, my advice would be to keep away from such short-cuts of link-building and SEO. Well as far as earning from such a practice is concerned, I don't find any harm with that. ;)

totally agree google is doing so much frequent changes that webmaster are following white hat techniques.
