    Alternative text

    Hi All
Help. I am trying to complete my new web site using Dreamweaver. I have many graphics and use Alternative Text as the onlt text description. This works well in Explorer but I cannot get Alternative Text to work in Netscape.
    Regards

The alt atribute on images is to provide alternative text to the image in the case that the image does not load, the browser does not support images or the user is visually impaired.

IE displays the alt text in the tootip text. Other browsers do not use the alt text here. Rather they use the title="" atribute. Technically, using the title for the tooltip is more correct than using the alt text. Some browsers will also show other info in the tooltip like the url of a link.
