    Taxes

What do you do about paying taxes on your income from designing websites?

I have a small side business going and the people I am designing and maintaining for are paying me pretty decent, but I am not sure if I am getting enough business to claim anything and they are paying me out of pocket.

How many of you guys have to claim their income from freelance web design?

In the UK, it works like this: if you earn money through whatever (includes freelance web development) then this must be taxed upon if it goes over a certain amount. It is roughly around £4000 that you can go tax-free, after this a percentage of what you earn goes to the Inland Revenue. If you don't do this and get caught, you get in serious trouble.
