Ordered List Question

Hi, does anyone know how to have a space between an ordered list? What I mean is instead of:

List:

1. list contents
2. list contents
3. list contents

This is the output I am trying to get:

1. list contents

2. list contents

3. list contents

Each number has multiple lines of text so using line-height doesn't work because it streches the text as well. I am really looking for a solution that would, in affect, add a <br /> in between each number.

Any ideas? Thanks,
