School me on Content Management Systems!

There are a TON of open source CMS apps available. Who has used what? I really want to know how they work. I've heard people say there are some apps that you can install where the admin panel is pretty simple and easy for doing site updates and handling lots of changing content.

Well, is it really as simple as entering data into fields and uploading? Or do I need to be a programmer to use a CMS? Does anyone on the board have experience using anything? I'm so new to it, I don't even know what questions to ask!

That depends.

Some CMSs require knowledge to get setup, like entering tables into databases etc... However, many self install.

Some are harder to theme than others, but some are easier.

Just look around the internet a bit until you get one that suits you.
