Lightbulb SWF to Gif in a jiffy

Hi. Haven't posted in a while. But here's a good one (I hope).

Being a web designer, well, was a graphic designer a few years before the word 'web' could be attached to 'designer', I just wanted to share a tip with fellow web designer's out there on converting a non animated swf slice from SwishMax to a gif format image to place it as a background image in a table using Dreamweaver. I needed to place a vertical scrolling marquee javascript in that table on top of the gif image... Hope I haven't lost you here. All this because the trial SWF2Gif application that I downloaded expired today! Darn!

Here's what I did and if you've discovered it already just bear with me :-)

Opened the swf file, at 100% view (flash player will work), took a screenshot or 'Print Screen' on your keyboard), pasted it in Photoshop, cropped it by selecting a fixed size marquee according to the size I need, saved it for web in photoshop (using 256 color setting, adaptive), and there you have... No need SWF2Gif application (or any other)

    I'm so relieved.
