Is there anyway of installing IE6 (or preferably an alternative) on Vista?

    Hi guys,

I've got a website that I need to test in IE6 but can't from this PC because it doesn't have it installed, and I've absolutely no idea how to install IE6 on Vista.

Also, if possible is there a program I can install or run that'll basically mimic IE6 to save me doing a full install? That'd be ideal since I'd only very rarely use the program.

    Thanks

I think you have two options:-
    1. Buy an old PC at a car boot sale or computer shop for as little as possible; you can find one cheap as people upgrade to XP from W98 or Vista from XP.

    2. If you have an old installation disk for Win98 or WIN XP which has IE6 install a virtual PC:-
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pro...c/default.mspx
This allows you to run an old operating system like W98 or XP with IE6 on a computer with Vista, but separates Vista from W98 or XP.
Code downloaded to my PC will be deleted in due course.
WIN7; IE9, Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Safari for Windows; screen resolution usually 1366*768.
    Also IE6 on W98 with 800*600 and IE8 on Vista 1440*900.
