problem with tiff image

Hi
Im developing a web based application with back end db as postgresql and front end in html and php scripting language in windows os.i need to store data and images in db and retrieve it .As for the data and jpeg/gif/png images my application is working fine but im able to store tif images in db but not able to retrieve it back...As IE does not support Tiff images by default is there and way to display tiff images in IE or do i need to convert tiff to any supported format...
please help me
any suggestions will be helpful
