Design critique needed - thank you

Hi All,

I'm new here so I appreciate your time and feedback!

I'm not a graphic designer but I'm working on a social news website design. The design is intended to focus the user on the published stories and minimize everything else. The site is also about World of Warcraft so I'm attempting, through color, to bring that games feel into the site while not bogging it down with heavy graphics.

I would appreciate any constructive criticism.

I understand that you don't want to bog it down with "heavy graphics", a few well placed graphics would do wonders for your site. Also, because it is World of Warcraft related, I'd recommend a darker template. Try to give it a color scheme similar to worldofwarcraft.com
If anyone's looking for WoW specific news, I'm sure they've been to worldofwarcraft.com, so it makes the association of those colors to WoW in the user's mind.
