How would I go about making a website that provides email like gmail, yahoo or hushmail?
I want to make it private and encrypted email. I do not want me as the server to have any access to peoples inboxes or any ability to decrypt and read there messages.
How would I go about doing this? Which code must I learn? I am well verses in HTML and some PHP.
Please point me in the right direction.

If i understand you correctly you are decent in HTML and some PHP. So what I would do is research and maybe look at the sources of the websites that are a little less developed for emails. I would then compare them to Gmail yahoo and other sites and see what I know and what I may have to learn.
I am not sure but Maybe this will help?
