    1024x768 - Troubles

    Hey,

I built a site - www.umusa.net/static - its in a 1024x768 to fit most normal screens. My problem is it's still giving a scroll bar at the bottom from left to right, in a 1024x768, I sized it down a little and still am getting that scroll bar i guess I did not size it enough or how do I basically keep the site in a set window. -

    Main Question

What sizes do I need to use to keep the whole site in a 1024 768 window I honestly dont want any scrolling not even top to bottom, just a iframe/div scroll bar which I know how to do, but what size does the site need to be so there is no main scroll bar if the standard window size is 1024x786 - some have 800x600 and anyone with big screens can see it anyway

    According to this site
    http://justaddwater.dk/2006/08/17/de...t-screen-size/
    it's 1004*598.

I usually allow 20px for the width of a vertical scrollbar although operating systems like WIN98 SE, WIN XP and Vista vary between 16 and 18px and browsers like Safari or Opera have their own widths and then the viewer can edit his own computer scrollbar width.

Vertically it's more difficult to say what the net size is as people can add their own menu bars at the top of the screen.
Code downloaded to my PC will be deleted in due course.
WIN7; IE9, Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Safari for Windows; screen resolution usually 1366*768.
    Also IE6 on W98 with 800*600 and IE8 on Vista 1440*900.
