good Knowledge Base application

I am researching a good knowledge base application and am open to suggestions.


require an:

easy to use search feature which allows clients to search for topic
login and password to enter the system - they must submit to be accepted since
its for clients only.

A strong graphical interface. Many open-source apps lack a good strong graphical interface. Meaning, it has to look professional.

It can be hosted on our server if we opt too.

Free or paid if the quality is good.

MS SQL Server or PostrgeSQL
Windows or Linux.

I'd recommend you to search for the "knowledge base script" at Google. I am sure you will find the required script for your purpose. I know of such a script called 'PHPKB' that is available as hosted service as well as owned license. It is available with support for MySQL database and MS-SQL server databases.
