Slow resolve for server domain alias

    Hello everyone,

I'm still pretty green when it comes to hosting and server issues and I appreciate the help.

Currently I am running a VPS through Godaddy that is hosting 4 sites, 2 of which use an SQL database but all in all doesn't draw in excessive traffic. The server is running Centos 5.8/Apache while using Webmin to administer. Everything is working fine except that I've noticed any aliases resolve extremely slow versus using the full and direct URL. such as "mysite.com" vs "www.mysite.com"

My question is this a normal occurance, or should they resolve just as fast as typing the direct URL?
If it isn't normal, what could be some contributing factors?

    Thanks

I had a lot of issues with godaddy... the list is almost endless.

They should load exactly the same speed (or so close that you shouldn't even notice the difference (1ms or so)).
What you can do however is setup your .htaccess file so that it rewrites the url to the format that you find is faster.

Hope that helps, if you have any more questions feel free to ask.
