Hi everyone ive been working on a website for my entertainment company for a little over a week now and id like to get some oppinions on the form and function of the website. I do not take offense to negative criticism so please id love the honest truth.

Your landing page has no information about the website. Information is very important to attract people towards your offers.

Ok:

1. You have a Valid XHTML link, when you do NOT have valid XTHML

2. You have a link to the CSS validator, but its to the home page of the CSS validator, not the results of your page.

3. When I first went on the site, i thought it was about astronomy/space/etc, Its not until i read the black text under the title ( which again is hard to read ) did i notice its about gaming?

4. Your not having a footer?

5. The design looks very "empty"

6. How do i know if my email was sent? I tried to contact you, and when i press the button the information gets removed from the form ( which is correct ), but there is no message to tell me its successful or not?

7. It would be nice if your forum fit the design of the rest of your site

8. You need to go over your WHOLE site and check the spelling/grammar, here is one small paragraph with more that 2 mistakes in:

sparky is midngiht productions handy helper. a trance dj at heart hes funloving but reliable

- Midnight is spelt wrong
- First letters of the sentence should be capitals ( x2 )
- You need a Period ( . ) at the end of the last sentance
- Funloving is actually 2 words, or can be hyphenated

9. Your images ( of the Crew ) are put in at 300 x 255 pixels, when the actual image size is about 600 wide, If your going to display the image at 300 x 255, then the image should be that size, not shrunk at real time via HTML.

10. If i am on this page; http://midnight-productions.co.cc/pellucidia/lunaria/, and i click the Pellucidia link in the navigation, you get 404 error

11. Your site just does not look like a gaming website, it does not have the "style", most gaming sites are modern/grunge, and are generally quite busy.

1. the only errors i see are involving the use of && and theres only 2 of them.
2. ill get that sorted.
3. i found the black easy to read but if you have another sugestion ill look at it.
4. i just dont see the need for a footer
5. not sure if that has to do with the layout or just general need for more content
6. to be honest the contact form is from a standard template but ill take a look
7. i did my best to find a phpbb template that worked for me. i dont have the time to make my own.
8. i know i realy do. my partner is supposed to be taking care of that but we havnt cought up on it yet.
9. plan to replace those images completely soon just needed something temporary.

11. i was aiming for more of a friendly easy to read style page since its mostly just raw information at the moment.

Don't really understand why you are asking us to review a template with your content in it? it looks like almost every other site that uses a template in that it just doesn't suit what the site is about. Midnight Productions should have some really cool imagery running through the site. It should be well planned out with colour scheme and layout that suit what you do. At the moment it is your words in someone else's (brown) design and no cohesion whatsoever.

I think I'd actually be put off by your site as a punter.

The moon 'logo' isn't working for me either I'm afraid. It looks amateur.

And also you have said that your partner was going to spell check the content. I'd suggest doing that before you publish anything to the web. It is just more professional.

All in all I think you are doing yourself a disservice with this site because I'm sat here listening to one of your mixes and they are very good You just need a way better site, built from scratch and that reflects you, your crew and what you do.

Sorry to be harsh but maybe leave the web designing to someone who can do it. You've said you don't really have the time but haven't you got a friend or someone who comes to your parties who knows what they are doing that could do this for you?

Please spellcheck your work...it looked like someone dared you to type the whole thing in under ten minutes. Maybe it's just me, but I can't take any website seriously if they are atrocious spellers.

kind of unpersonal design that comes off extremely empty.

It's unpersonal in that if I saw this design anywhere else I'd think a carpet firm with an ad for a "gaming and music" site as their header.

The tag seems kind of overused by the way and if you're going to use that then your website should support it.

It's nice that you use brown/black on white for the main content as it increases readability, but I think you'll be better off just sticking to one theme. If you want to stay brown/black on white then you could make your background around the site container white.

The border on the right looks like it's way too big.

corossive the entire site is not from template just some elements. Were in stage one of the site and as for game content were in the planing stage and wont have a workable version for atleast 12 months. a few of the graphics are definately in need of being reworked mostly this is just to have a base to distribute info on for people in the project right now. A complete rework may be needed later.

You are an entertainment company but your website does not indicate it at all. There should be nice footers and headers. Place some social bookmarking icons or the ways by which visitors can interact with you. It was very quiet website. It needs to speak..

Try a brigther colour, create a better logo, more information about the website and more images about what it is about.
Right now, anyone who gets to the site doesnt know what it is about until you need to seek for information. It needs to be explicit what it is about.
