Exclamation [Help] Freelancing Opportunities?

Hi, I'm an experience web developer and graphic artist, but I've never actually done any work for money; it was all either experimental or for other various reasons. So, I'm new to the freelancing scene. I've been looking around for hours now, trying to find a freelancer-to-webmaster portal, but the ones I've found require some kind of upfront payment or commission fee. The whole point of my becoming a freelancer is to make money, and I don't have money to invest right now, so I feel like it's a vicious circle.

I'm willing to work for any reasonable amount of money at this point. I'm hoping someone here can offer me a job or at least point me in the right direction.

Here are a few samples of my work. None are fully complete, but they were personal projects.

I'm really crossing my fingers here, so please have mercy on me.

Thanks.
- Brandon

i think what your going to find is a lot of people who are going to offer you work for what you wish you would not get offers for. thats been my experience so far. what i would suggest is that you develop a portfolio, and meet the needs of people who arn't looking to pay $500 for a website, but instead $50 for a template and such. there's more of them out there than who are looking to pay a large chunk. the goal then is to try and fill up your plate with as many of these jobs. freelancing isn't easy, and it isn't no 9-5 job either =)
