Dam this made me laugh

When I set up my development using WAMP not too long ago I was going by the recommendations from several sources . A couple of books I read recommended getting the zip package for php and then configuring it manually to suit my needs .

So after trying to get it to work with mysql and having nothing but frustration and no success , ( cuz I don't know php from a hole in the head ) I decided to entertain myself with a little googling so I typed in php sucks and mysql . This is after about 12 hours of banging my head against the wall .

Here is a thread that came up .

http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=48139 *** WARNING*** LOT'S OF SWEARING TO BE FOUND .
After reading this I was literally rolling around on the floor laughing my head off .

I gave up on PHP and then after researching ASP I decided to go give it another try except this time I used the PHP msi installer ... mysql integration bang right on in a nutshell with a little apache tweeking .

the moral of the story .... DONT READ BOOKS THEY ARE EVIL !!!!!!!!!

The reply that tosser got is funny (at the posted link).

Yeah, if you can't get it to work, the reason is probably because you are doing something wrong. As for your sources, it is the internet, a place where really anybody can post up an instruction sheet. No way to say they can do it right either. Word to the wise, be cynical of what you read.
