question about images on Ebay

I'm using my photoshop for editing my pictures.
the only thing is: when I use them on Ebay, they seem more compressed then before. can somebody explain that?

when you look BEHIND the POTATO, you may see that the brightness and contrast levels are tweaked in a strange way...

Ebay always seems to squash images you upload. I use my own html and link to images on my server, if you design a nice template for your auctions then sales go up too
