displaying pictures - ftp advice

was doing some updates for a friend, his webhost is a bit different from the one i use since i have to put files into a folder called "www" on the host directory. ive uploaded the whole site into this with an images folder full of images but it wont display them asking for a password while it tries to connect with each separate picture.

does anyone know what i am doing wrong or where i should put the pictures instead?

Check for a .htaccess file on the site. That would be the file that lists which folders are password protected. If you can't find one, then ask his host. Maybe try renaming the folder something other than images incase the host has that folder name protected.
