    "display problems" newbie

    Hey everyone,
I just finished and put up my first site but there is a white bar to the right of my site design. I know there is a way to have a site format to the viewers screen but I created my site through design latouts not html. Is there a simple way to fix this problem? I want to learn html but have no idea how to use it yet. On a side note, should I take a class from my local community college or are there some good books that will explain everything starting on a very basic level?

    Thanks for any help.

You could try some online tutorials. They're free.
    http://www.echoecho.com/html.htm
    http://www.wpdfd.com/editorial/basics/cssbasics5.html
use Google to search for other html tuorials.
Code downloaded to my PC will be deleted in due course.
WIN7; IE9, Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Safari for Windows; screen resolution usually 1366*768.
    Also IE6 on W98 with 800*600 and IE8 on Vista 1440*900.
