    Common Area between seperate pages

Is it possible to create a common area between multiple pages? What I mean is say have a menu on each page which is centralised so I would only need to edit one file and the changes are made globally on each separate page...such a feature could be also used for headers & footers etc. Kinda like css which centralises the formatting. I'm pretty sure such a feature must be possible...I just don't know how.

    Thanks for your help

Use Server-side Includes like SHTML or PHP:-

    http://www.wickham43.supanet.com/tut...eincludes.html
Code downloaded to my PC will be deleted in due course.
WIN7; IE9, Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Safari for Windows; screen resolution usually 1366*768.
    Also IE6 on W98 with 800*600 and IE8 on Vista 1440*900.
