Background Suggestions

I'm putting up a new Site. I have the Menu up, although not really running. My question is, I need a background. The main page will be mostly text, and a few pictures. I'm really not sure yet. I've tried a few, anything to dark, looks bad. I dont want anything tiled either. Just one fluid bg.

You give no clue as to what the site is to be about, nor do you give any hint as to what feeling you want it to have, so in essence you are asking people for ideas without the slightest bit of guidance as to what you might want. That being said, how about a simple, plain color? Something that will make your text easy to read and make your pictures stand out. How about white?
