What do you call these in website designing terms?

You know the cool decorations in the backround, i dont even know how to explain, this is why i need your help finding out what these are called...

for example is you go to mariah careys official site, look at the top once you enter her site, behind her name there is a cool decoration, kinda like the ones you see on wood furniture stylings.

I know im very bad at describing this, but i need some help trying to figure out what everybody calls this art design

It's called a cartouche (alt spelling: cartouch).. It's an architectural term that's also used in graphic arts.
