    Beginniner question

    Hey guys,

I'm new to the forums and this is my first post.

I'm looking to start my own website but I am completely new to this. I'm hoping to house my video game blog on this website but I am having trouble finding a good place to start. I don't know much about HTML but I do know the basics plus some.

I'm hoping to find a good place that is cheap, possibly comes with a blog client (although I think I can get one free), a domain name, and maybe some extra features. Anybody know anything newbie friendly? Something that might meet my needs?

Sorry if this is too general of a question. I'm just getting very confused looking around the internet.

    Thanks!

Most web hosting providers have a number of easy to install packages that you can use for free with their hosting. This includes blogging software.

We (http://www.servwise.com) use Fantastico on our linux servers for example, and this comes with about 5 different packages for blogging.

And most hosting providers, including us, offer domains as part of their service offering.

In all there are about 40 different packages you can install, the majority are free, and you could put together a site that can do almost anything with these, without a great deal of development experience.

This is a great way to get started, and to get a feel for what you want to do with your site, without having to start from scratch.

Also, we have a number of content management systems you can install, such as Joomla (http://joomla.org), which you can add modules to, to develop your site into whatever you need. And you could do this without even html knowledge, but an understanding of html / css will get you the best results.

    Cheers,

    Paul
