    Why IE4

We have a beautiful new library in our city with several computers for the public to use. I have a client that does not have computer at home and uses the library computers for business. She has complained that her site does not look right. It is fine on every computer I have used. I went to the library and found that they are running IE4 on their computers. Why would the library run IE4. It is a security issue our are they just being cheap?

The IT support must be third party and any updating will incur a cost.

IE4 is shameful really but the person who makes the decisions needs to be aware that the browser is no longer supported and therefore the library needs to update this

A letter to the curator should do the trick explaining that most web sites will have difficulty with IE4. If that doesn't work visit your council / local government and raise this as an issue. The library will have a policy of delivering a usable internet service.
