Past Pupils Website

Hi,

I am been approached regarding the design of a Past Pupils website for a school.
They basically want past pupils to go to the site, register and then be able to contact other registered members categorised by years with possibly a search feature.

They said they don't want a forum so that route is out.
I would also like it if no email addresses were displayed on the site and that users were contacted by a fairly standard contact form (like what is seen on many websites).

I really don't want to develop a system myself as that takes huge lengths of time.

Any ideas of what way I should approach this?
