Not website related but - Help with Access 2007

I know this is not going to be website related but I'm not really a member of any other forums. So I thought that maybe someone might be able to help me.

I am trying to open an Access database that is saved on another computer over a network. my comp is running win 7 and the other running Vista (GAG) Every time I go to open the access database it opens read only.
I have permissions to fully modify the folder and files. Nothing is locked or hidden. If I save the same database on my comp it works just fine. but trying to use this database it wont.

any thoughts or ideas???

if you have permission to launch it from where it lives then right click it and untick the read only checkbox from properties.
