    Dreamweaver Templates

I'm designing my own CSS layout for a personal website I'm working on. I'm just trying to get better with CSS, so it's kinda like a practice run for me. What I did was created a layout in Dreamweaver CS4, then saved it as a template I could use to maintain consistency throughout the site.

This brings me to my question. Do professionals who build huge sites with hundreds upon hundreds of pages use templates the way I am or not? If not, what do they use to maintain that consistency throughout the whole site? I know they most likely aren't manually re-adding the div tags on every single page, right? Do they use PHP to accomplish this consistency somehow? If so, what is the basic way that PHP allows you to do this? Which method do you prefer? Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't go for much over ten pages with a DW template. They can be temperamental and you have to FTP every page when you make a change. Try this; http://corrosiveonline.co.uk/tutorials_php_includes.php
