    White spaces in e-commerce website

    1. I have noticed that a majority of the e-commerce websites such as apple.com, barnes and noble.com , flipkart.com and many more have a white space border of 1 inch on either sides. Whereas Amazon.com does not have any. Is there a particular reason why is it like this ?

    2. Does AJAX still have problems with SEO ? Is there a way to fix it if I wish to embed AJAX in my e-commerce website ?

Please let me know your suggestions.

Not really a reason for it. What you are describing is the difference between a fixed and fluid width website; http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2009...t-one-for-you/ There is no right or wrong answer. It's just preference and possibly dictated by content sometimes.

No idea about AJAX but so many sites use it I'd be surprised.
