There are two ways to do this,

1. To use images designed in Photoshop or any other such program with your desired effect and use in your web.

2. Through CSS3 but you first read all browser's compatibility about supporting a certain feature because many different versions of browsers have different percentage of compatibility for CSS3. Here is their official site:
