After these particles get stuck inside the nose, the mucus surrounds them along with some of the tiny hairs inside the nose called cilia. The mucus dries around the particles. When the particles and dried-out mucus clump together, you're left with a booger! Boogers can be squishy and slimy or tough and crumbly.
So I guess, there's nothing wrong with it..like most kids give a good laugh to their playmates ..it's just a matter of how often you clean your nose...[/QUOTE]

Cilia are tiny hairs that grow in your lungs. They're purpose is to fight off infection. Smokers as they smoke burn these hairs and if they smoke regularly are in danger of getting infections more than anyone else.
Are you a smoker? Here's something that can add many years to your life.
Every year quit smoking for a whole month. (no cheating or you have to start over) In a month's time your cilia should grow back and youll be good to go.
